Both vouchers are “result checkers.” Both arrive by SMS. WAEC will still reject a BECE PIN on a WASSCE check. The mix-up happens on the Ewale menu, not at WAEC.

What you need
- The exam the candidate actually sat this sitting.
- A slow read of the USSD line that says WASSCE or BECE.
The flow on *714*22#
- Dial *714*22#.
- Open Education.
- Select the exam. If you are unsure, stop and ask the candidate.
- Only then enter the amount flow and PIN.
After you pay
A wrong-exam voucher is still a sold voucher. Buy the correct exam next. Do not keep retrying the wrong PIN on WAEC.
If something fails
- Nov/Dec vs school candidate: If the menu offers a private or Nov/Dec option, pick the one that matches the candidate’s registration.
- Panic buying both: Buy the one you need. A spare voucher is optional, not a fix.
The exam word on the confirm screen is the product. Everything after that is just payment.
