Ghana Water still shows unpaid after a successful Ewale debit

Posting to GWCL can lag. Keep the SMS, check the debit, and only pay again if the first sale reversed.

Pay Ghana Water in 30 seconds

Pay with MoMo and keep the SMS as your receipt.

*714*22#

Water billing systems do not always flip to “paid” in the same minute MoMo debits you. The SMS is your proof during that lag. Paying twice to silence the anxiety is how accounts go into credit you did not plan.

Payments happen on Ewale (ewalepay.com or *714*22#), not on this blog.

What you need

  1. The confirmation SMS.
  2. The account number you paid.
  3. The debit in wallet history.

The flow on *714*22#

  1. Match the account on the SMS to the bill.
  2. Wait for GWCL to post. This can take hours.
  3. If it never posts, support with the reference — not an immediate second bill pay.

After you pay

A posted payment and a slow bill reprint can coexist. Ask support or GWCL with the receipt rather than starting a duplicate USSD session.

If something fails

  • Paid a different account with a similar number: That account received the money. Yours is still unpaid until you pay the right one.
  • Partial amount: Paying less than outstanding may leave a balance. That is not a failed Ewale sale.

Receipt first, second payment only after a reverse or a confirmed miss.

Dial Ewale now

Keep *714*22# saved. It is the backup that works when an app, OTP, or data fails. One shortcode also pays Ghana Water and TV bills.
