Paying from your MoMo does not force the credit onto your SIM. Ewale asks for a destination number. That is the only number that receives the airtime.
Payments happen on Ewale (ewalepay.com or *714*22#), not on this blog.
What you need
- The other person’s full number, not a contact nickname.
- The correct network row (MTN, Telecel, AT, or Glo).
- A way to tell them the SMS arrived so they do not buy a second pack.
The flow on *714*22#
- Dial *714*22# or open ewalepay.com.
- Pick Airtime and the destination network.
- Type their number. Read it back on the confirm screen.
- Pay with your wallet. Keep the SMS for both of you.
After you pay
If they say the credit is missing, check the number on your SMS before you top up again. A successful debit to the wrong line is not a failed payment.
If something fails
- Saved contact was stale: USSD does not use your phonebook. Type the digits.
- They already bought airtime: Two successful debits are two credits. Coordinate before repeating.
The summary screen is the product. If the number there is theirs, you are done after one PIN.
