MTN airtime on Ewale is a credit to a phone number, not a token you type later. The paying wallet is usually MTN MoMo, but the destination number can be any MTN line you are allowed to top up.
Payments happen on Ewale (ewalepay.com or *714*22#), not on this blog.
What you need
- The MTN number you want to credit — yours or someone else’s.
- A mobile money wallet with enough balance for the amount plus any fee shown on the summary.
- The phone that will receive the PIN prompt.
The flow on *714*22#
- Dial *714*22# and wait for the Ewale menu.
- Choose Telco / Airtime, then MTN.
- Enter the destination number and confirm it on the next screen.
- Enter the amount in Ghana cedis.
- Read the summary. If the number is wrong, stop.
- Approve the mobile money prompt with your PIN.
After you pay
Airtime usually lands in seconds. Keep the SMS. It is the receipt if the credit is delayed or you topped up the wrong line.
If something fails
- Declined PIN: Nothing was bought. Dial again and approve once.
- Wrong number: That credit cannot be moved. Top up the correct line as a new payment.
- No SMS: Check the destination balance before buying a second time.
One confirmed debit, one airtime credit. Treat the SMS as the receipt.
