DSTV on Ewale is a subscription payment against your smartcard, not a token you type on the decoder. After a successful debit, Multichoice restores the bouquet. That can take a few minutes with the decoder on and connected.
Payments happen on Ewale (ewalepay.com or *714*22#), not on this blog.
What you need
- Your DSTV smartcard / decoder number.
- A mobile money wallet.
- The decoder powered if you want to confirm channels after.
The flow on *714*22#
- Dial *714*22#.
- Choose TV Bills → DSTV.
- Enter the smartcard number. Confirm the account details if shown.
- Choose the bouquet or amount the menu offers.
- Approve the PIN. Keep the SMS.
After you pay
Leave the decoder on. Activation is often 5–15 minutes, not instant like airtime. Do not pay a second month while you wait fifteen minutes.
Paying for someone else
Enter their smartcard number. Your wallet pays; their decoder renews. Tell them you paid so they do not also pay at a shop.
If something fails
- Invalid smartcard: Remove spaces. Use the number on the card or decoder, not a neighbour’s old screenshot.
- Channels still off after 30 minutes: Keep the SMS. Contact Multichoice or Ewale support with the receipt — not a duplicate Ewale payment yet.
Smartcard, bouquet, one PIN, wait for the decoder — not a second debit.
