Where to find your DSTV smartcard number

USSD will accept a well-formed number that is not yours. Finding the physical card takes two minutes and saves a month of someone else’s Compact.

Payments happen on Ewale (ewalepay.com or *714*22#), not on this blog.

What you need

1. Access to the decoder.
2. A photo if you pay remotely for family.

The flow on *714*22#

1. Look on the smartcard (pull it if needed) and on the decoder label.
2. If you pay from afar, ask for a photo of that label, not a number typed from memory.
3. Enter it under TV Bills → DSTV on *714*22#.

After you pay

Save the photo in the family chat with the word DSTV so nobody pastes a GOtv IUC next month.

If you cannot find it

Multichoice Ghana can retrieve it. Ewale can only charge the number you type.

If something fails

• Old decoder, new card: Use the card that is actually in the slot now.
• Installation SMS from 2019: Verify against the hardware. Numbers get replaced.

Photograph the card once. Pay against that photo forever after.
