Tokens are generated after settlement. The USSD screen often closes before the SMS. That gap is where people panic and pay twice — two tokens, one house that only needed one.
Payments happen on Ewale (ewalepay.com or *714*22#), not on this blog.
What you need
- MoMo history showing the debit.
- Time.
- The paying number’s SMS inbox.
The flow on *714*22#
- Wait. Night and weekend traffic still settles, just not always in ten seconds.
- Search SMS for numbers that look like a token.
- If it is truly missing, use Ewale Support on *714*22# or walletewale@gmail.com with the reference.
After you pay
When the delayed SMS arrives, enter that token. Ignore the instinct to buy “backup units.”
If something fails
- Full inbox: Delete old bank messages and look again.
- Second purchase already done: You now have two tokens. Use both on the same meter if they belong to it.
Recover the first token. Only buy again if the first debit reversed.
